Peacock

Deep colours that flow into each other in the kiln.

The story

Peacock is a glaze technique by Mayco. Several layers of glaze are applied on top of each other, and during firing they melt into one another. Where the glaze lies thick and where it runs thin, deep greens and blues appear that sometimes shimmer like a peacock feather.

Exactly how it turns out is up to the kiln. The shape is the same for every bowl, but the flow of the glaze never is. That is why each piece gets a number instead of a name. Marjolein threw the first bowl, Martijn the next two.
